Training to become an In Our Own Voice (IOOV) Presenter
Despite advances in the understanding of treatment for mental illness, people coping with a mental illness still face barriers in public attitudes that often deter them from engaging in recovery.
IOOV presentations enrich the audiences' understanding of how the over 58 million Americans contending with mental illness cope while also reclaiming rich and meaningful lives.
"The inspiration of the NAMI presenters long outlives their actual visit. All who attended talked about it for days afterwards" (quote from Baltimore, MD)
