Become a NAMI Walk Sponsor
NAMI Georgia asks you to join us to be a part of the solution to a serious public health problem that is costing employers tens of billions of dollars annually in lost employee productivity and health care expenses.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI, is the nation’s leading advocate for the millions of Americans suffering from mental illness. The state organization, NAMI Georgia, provides support, education, advocacy, and research programs for people across Georgia living with mental illness. These programs, in conjunction with proper therapy and treatment, help keep Georgians on the job and out of hospitals and jails. Your participation in the WALK will help fund these programs.
We are requesting your support in our annual Metro NAMI Walk to be held on Saturday,October 1, 2011 in Atlanta, Ga.
For those participants in southern Georgia, the Waycross NAMI Walk will be held in Waycross, Georgia that will coincide with the Metro NAMI WALK. NAMI Georgia is seeking sponsorships for the 7th Annual NAMI Georgia Walk. As a Walk Sponsor, your company will receive extensive visibility via print advertising, press releases, website links, banners, signage, direct mail, a company information booth at the event and much more, depending on your level of support. The proceeds from the Walk will be used to:
- Provide weekly support groups and free education programs for persons with serious brain disorders and their families
- Train law enforcement in de-escalation and jail diversion
- Advocate for improved opportunities for treatment, housing, and meaningful jobs
- Support research into more effective treatment and interventions
- Support public education programs, such as In Our Own Voice, the Georgia Behavioral Health Caucus, and the Regional Summits, to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness.
