Region 5 Mental Health Summit
The initial Region 5 SUMMIT February 27, 2009
Summary
The Summit was hosted by NAMI Savannah. The Summit was facilitated by Richard Garrison of Franklin Covey. The Summit was attended by Commissioner Walker and Gwen Skinner, Dave Statton, Mary Eleanor Wickersham, committed public, private, political, professional, law enforcement, regional planning board leadership, and leading citizens of Region 5, representing all segments of our society.
The process to develop our goals was explained. The need for focus was emphasized. The measurable goal was described as a war. Only three or four tasks, referred to as battles, could be accomplished with excellence. Therefore, the war was broken into four major battles, with the battles further divided into skirmishes. The Summit was able to identify the War, and the 4 major battles needed to win the War.
